Abelardo S. Garcia, Sr., Age 79 years, 8 months, and 17 days, of San Antonio, Texas, died on Monday, November 8, 2004. He was born in Gardendale on February 22, 1925, the son of Samuel & Elvira (Salcedo) Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Juan Enrique Garcia, Armando; brothers Auturo Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia. Abelardo is survived by his sons Abelardo Garcia, Jr., of Rosharon, Jesse Garcia of Hondo, El Ray Garcia of San Antonio; daughters Patricia Garcia Mares of Hondo, Alicia Sedillo of San Antonio, Olga Leal of San Antonio, Beatrice Davis and husband Andrew of Hondo; brothers Samuel Garcia, Enrique Turruviate, Alpido Turruviate. The Rosary will be, Wednesday, November 10 at 7:00 pm, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Thursday, November 11, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Oscar Garcia, Ramiro Garcia, Ronnie Garcia, Robert Garcia, John Anthony Garcia, Juan Armando Garcia. The burial will follow at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
