Addie Bell Sorrell, age 97, of San Antonio passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014. Addie Bell Yates Evans Sorrell was born the 7th child to R.C. Yates Sr. and Minnie Mae Washington Yates on February 21, 1917. Her siblings included six brothers and three sisters: John, James, R.C. Jr., Elsworth, Robert, Gus, Allice, Jessie and Allie, all preceding her in death. She was joined in matrimony to Vernon Evans Sr. and into this union were born Dewitt Sr., Elton, Gloria Bell and William Evans, who all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, J D Sorrel, in 2013. She leaves behind to mourn one sister, Tillie Yates; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Meme, as she was loving known, was called home to be with her precious Lord at the glorious age of 97, on Friday, May 16, 2014. Celebration of her life will begin with visitation on Saturday, May 31, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with a service at 11 a.m., and interment following at 11:30 a.m. at Cottonwood Cemetery, Hondo.
