Adelina "Nina" (Del Toro) Pargas, age 70, of D'Hanis, a woman of great faith, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2007. She was born in D'Hanis on Oct. 13, 1936. Nina was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She retired from Civil Service in 1999, after 17 years of faithful service, to devote her time to her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Valente and Maria (Rodriguez) Del Toro and sister, Elida "Lela" Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband, Joe Pargas; daughters, Patsy Ybarra and Joyce Rivera and husband Enrique, all of D'Hanis, Debbie Rodriguez and husband Mike; sons, Fred Pargas and wife Jessica, all of San Antonio, and Joey Pargas of D'Hanis; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Everardo Del Toro and wife Flo of Apple Valley, MN, and Oscar Del Toro and wife Alice; sisters, Esther Aguirre and husband Joe, and Margie Gonzales, all of San Antonio. Rosary was recited Thursday, July 12, 7 p.m., and Funeral Mass was held Friday, July 13, at 10 a.m., both at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis. Honorary pallbearers were Justin Pargas, Dylan Pargas and M. J. Pargas Ybarra. Pallbearers are Jaime Rivera, Mike Rodriguez Jr., Jason Rodriguez, Carlo Ybarra, Christopher Pargas, and D. J. Pargas. Interment was at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.
