Adell Muennink Jordan, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and caring friend to many, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 4, 2015. Born on January 15, 1926, she was the first child of Andrew C. and Janie Stiegler Muennink of Hondo, Texas. Adell grew up in Hondo with her three brothers and a sister on her farm outside Hondo and graduated from Hondo High School in 1944. After graduation she met a young airman stationed in Hondo who was to become the love of her life, Harry Lincoln Jordan, at the Hondo skating rink. They were married on April 28, 1945 and celebrated 64 wonderful years together. After living and working together in various locations they settled in Dallas where they had two daughters, Barbara and Nicolle. In 1981 they moved back to Hondo to enjoy retirement. A terrific homemaker, Adell was well known for her wonderful pies, cookies and beautiful quilts, and was a long time member of the Hondo Garden Club, serving a term as President. Additionally, Adell volunteered many hours at the Hondo Thrift Shop. Adell and Harry were active in their church and were faithful members of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in San Antonio. Adell was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jordan and her brothers Lenwood Muennink and Jerry Muennink. Survivors include her brother Lloyd Muennink, sister Janice Elaine Muennink Ogden, her daughters, Barbara Holmes and Nicolle Ryan, son-in-law Michael Ryan, grandchildren, Jordan Ryan, Andrew Ryan, Elizabeth Holmes and great-grandchildren, Sophie, Harrison and Cole. Friends and family are invited to a visitation with the family from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday, January 16, 2015, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home, 2006 Avenue M, in Hondo. A private interment attended by family members will take place later that day
