Aileen Kathrine Burger, Age 98 years, 6 months, and 18 days, of Hondo, Texas, died on Monday, November 22, 2004. She was born at her grandmother's home at Vandenburg, outside of Hondo, on May 4, 1906, the daughter of Henry & Lizette Julia (Mumme) Burger. She was baptized at the New Fountain Methodist Church at an early age. She grewup on the Burger ranch north of Hondo. She attended the Peach Tree School. When she was a young lady she moved to San Antonio and was telephone operator until ill health forced her to retire. She lived in various nursing homes in San Antonio and the last several years she spent in Community Care Center in Hondo She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Melvin Hubert Burger and Stanley Louis Burger. Aileen is survived by her sister, Clara Bell Koch of Hondo; brother, Robert Burger and wife Adell of Uvalde; nieces, Brenda Heilig of Hondo and Riva Martinez and husband Johnie of Fredricksburg; great-nieces and nephews Brent Heilig, Todd Heilig, Tiffany Rosson, Britta Boubel, Lacé Boubel. The Graveside Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 26, at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
