Albert Alexander Haegelin was born September 4, 1912, in Rural Hondo, Texas, the son of Adolph L. & Louise Katherine (Riff) Haegelin. Albert of Hondo, Texas, passed away August 27, 2003, at the age of 90 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Joseph A. & Hilmer B. Haegelin; sisters: Irma M. Wurzbach & Mary L. Reynolds. He is survived by his wife: Gwen (Gray) Haegelin, daughter: Kathy Stevens and husband Homer of Bandera; son Al Haegelin and wife Cindy of Austin; sister: Frances E. Meyer of Dallas; and grandchildren: Scott, Brian and Katie Haegelin. The Rosary will be Thursday, August 28, at 7:00 pm and the Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 29, 10:00 a.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment will follow in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
