Alberta Rico Benites, age 85, of Hondo, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2006. She was born April 7, 1921, in Hondo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor M. and Paula (Martinez) Rico; husband, Eusebio Benites; brothers, Gilberto Rico and Jose Rico; and sisters, Victoria Lerma, Lenor Soto, Lorenza rico, Felipa Maldonado, Guadalupe Rico and Luisa Sandoval. She is survived by her children, Candelaria "Susie" Benites and Gabriel Benites; brother, Victor Rico, Jr.; sisters, Juanita Dominguez, Carmen Piña, Felice Espinosa, Matilda Valdilles, Cleofas Salazar, Maria Morales, Sofia Patton, and Paulina Juanita Rico; sister-in-law, Maria Rico; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Monday, Oct. 2, 7 p.m., and Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, at 1 p.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
