Alejandro "Alex" Ortiz, Sr., age 71, passed away on August 29, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 6, 1933, in D'Hanis, the son of Amadeo & Feliciana "Anita" (Rodriguez) Ortiz. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Josefina "Josie" (Lopez) Ortiz; son Roger Michael Ortiz; brothers Amedeo "Shorty" Ortiz, Gilbert Ortiz, Sr., Leandro R. Ortiz; sisters Carolina O. Garcia, Oralia Dominguez, Balbina Orosco. Alejandro is survived by his daughter Leticia Watts and husband Edwin of Baltimore, MD; son Alejandro Ortiz, Jr., and wife Yolanda of D;Hanis; grandchildren Aaron Ortiz, Arnold Gomez, Alexis Watts, Isabel Palacios; brothers Ramiro Ortiz of D'Hanis, Nemesio Ortiz of CA, Basilio Ortiz of D'Hanis, Ismael Ortiz of D'Hanis; sister Dominga Hernandez of Austin. The Rosary will be Friday, September 2, at 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Wallis Stiles. The pallbearers were Guillermo Peña, Joe R. Wheeler, Henry Santos, Hipolito Rodriguez, Victor J. Garcia, Gabriel Ortiz. M.D. Burial will follow in the San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.
