Alejo Alcorta Rodriguez of D'Hanis, age 84, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015. Born July 17, 1930, in D'Hanis, he was the son of Santiago Sr. and Angelita Alcorta Rodriguez. Alejo proudly served in the U. S. Army in the Korean War. He retired after more than 40 years as a laborer at Universal Rundle. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Manuela Garcia Rodriguez; and brother, Santiago Rodriguez Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Norma Jean (Juan) Medina of D'Hanis; grandson, Alex (Elizabeth) Enriquez; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Annsley Enriquez, all of Hondo; and brothers, Ruben and Abel (Anna) Rodriguez, all of D'Hanis; sister, Eloisa Barrios of Hondo; and sister-in-law, Azalia Rodriguez of Lytle. Rosary at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, will be followed by the funeral service at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will be at at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis. Pallbearers are his nephews, Anthony Guy Rodriguez, Leonard Rodriguez, Jaime Ramos, Efrain Barrios Jr., Abel Rodriguez Jr. and Eric Rodriguez.
