Alicia "Licha" Arcos Pedroza, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born in Hondo on May 16, 1922. She was one of 24 children of Vicente G. and Antonia Soliz Arcos. She was a retired nurse's aide, having worked at Brown's Nursing Home and Community Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Gregorio "Pete" Pedroza; parents; four sisters Maria Diaz, Irene Rubio, Ursula Bernal, and Lupe Hinojosa; and eight brothers Luz, Jose, Cresencio, Vicente, Manuel, Jesus, Simon, and Jorge plus siblings that died in infancy. She is survived by her son Dr. Gregorio C. Pedroza (Lydia) of Apalachin, NY, daughters Rosalinda Barrón (Dr. / COL (Ret) Nicholas) of San Antonio, TX, Mary Aguilar (lsmael) of Helotes, TX and Regina "Reggie" Barrientes (the late Alex) of San Antonio, TX. as well as 12 grand-children, 23 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Apolonia "Pola" Martinez. She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist parish. She was a founding member of the Guadalupanas. She served on the St. John's Historical Society, was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary as well as many other organizations in Hondo. Rosary will be held at St. John's The Evangelist Catholic Church at 7 pm on April 30, 2015. Funeral mass will be held at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11 am on May 1, 2015, followed by entombment at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be the eight grandsons: Gregorio Ill and Vicente E. Pedroza, Nicholas II and Stephen Barrón, Michael and James Aguilar, Alex II and Jonathan Barrientes.
