Alpido S. Turruviate, age 63, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008. Alpido was born March 10, 1945, in Hondo, the son of Marcelo and Elvira (Saucedo) Turruviate, who precede him in death. He was an electrician, and had worked for the city and Universal Rundle. He is survived by his son, John Anthony Turruviate and wife Cynthia of Katy; daughter, Lupe Escamilla and husband Tomas of Hondo; three grandchildren, Jacob Turruviate, and Trey and Bryan Escamilla; and brother, Enrique Turruviate and wife Elsa of Hondo. Rosary was recited Sunday at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was held Monday, Oct. 6, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The pallbearers were Trey T. Escamilla, Jacob A. Correa, Brian Escamilla, Enrique Turruviate, Angelo Turruviate, Henry Escamilla.
