Amada Oranday of Hondo, Texas, passed away December 20, 2005, at the age of 97. She was born September 13, 1908, in Juarez, Mexico, the daughter Alifonsa Gudiño. She was raised by her grandparents Apolinar & Savas Gudiño. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cipriano Oranday; daughters Estefana Reyes, Maria Oranday; sons Estanislado Oranday, Tomas Oranday, Jose Oranday, Concepcion Oranday; daughter-in-laws Francisca Oranday, Paula Oranday, Rebecca Oranday; son-in-law Eufrasio Castillo, Vicente Reyes. Amada is survived by her sons Pedro Oranday of Hondo, Ramon Oranday of Dallas, Abran Oranday and Adelita of Bandera, Max Oranday, Anselmo Oranday and wife Maria of Taylor; daughters Juanita Castillo of Hondo, Severa Fernandez and husband Alejos of Bandera, Mary Torres and husband Richard of Hondo, Irene Escamilla and husband Henry of Hondo; daughter-in-law Maria Felipa Oranday of Wilmer; 100 grandchildren, 209 great grandchildren, 142 great great grandchildren, 1 great great great grandchild. The Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr Jeff Pehl, will be at 12:00 Noon Saturday December 24, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
