Amelia Katherine Cowan of Hondo, Texas, passed away July 3, 2004, at the age of 93 years, 4 months, 22 days. Amelia was born on February 11, 1911, to Alfred & Anna (Saathoff) Nester in D'Hanis, Texas. She was preceded by her parents; 1st husband: Mark Humphery Cowan, 2nd husband: John Glenn Cowan; brothers: Daniel Emil Nester, Clayton William Nester; sister: Lela Roberta Nester. Amelia is survived by her stepgrandson: Stephen Cowan; nephews: J.D. Nester and wife Kathleen of Fredericksburg, Hubert Allen Nester of D'Hanis, Phelix L. Cowan and wife Emilie of Hondo, Jessie W. Cowan and wife Renean of Devine, Michael Cowan and wife Bonnie of Omaha, NB, Ross Angermiller of Houston; brother-in-law: Jess Cowan of Omaha, NB. The Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, July 9, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and the Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, July 10, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Casketcarriers were: Joseph D. Nester, Hubert Allen Nester, Phelix L. Cowan, Jessie W. Cowan, Mark C. Cowan, Jeffrey W. Cowan. Interment will follow in WOW Cemetery, D'Hanis, Texas.
