Amparo Patricia "Patty" Santos Campos of Hondo, 78, was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, March 4, 2019. She was born March 30, 1940, in Hondo to Jesus M. Santos Sr. and Ofelia Gonzales Santos. The second oldest of 12 children, she is rememberd by her siblings as nurturing and like a second mom to her younger brothers and sisters. She was a good Christian person who loved her family and God. Ms. Campos was active in helping her husband while co-owners of CS&S Tire Service in Hondo, until she retired in 2007. She spent the last few years enjoying time with her loved ones, enjoying going to movies, eating out and family gatherings. She will be dearly missed by her children and family who have many fond memories of her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pedro "Pete" Campos Jr.; brother, Jesus M. "Chuy" Santos Jr.; sister, Oralia Santos; sister-in-law, Lupe Santos; and niece, Cassandra Santos. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara "Barby" Campos; son, Robert "Bobby" Campos, both of Hondo; her siblings, Henry Santos Sr. (companion Maria Reyna), Freddy Santos (wife Martha), Adolfo Santos (wife Irma), Arturo "Art" Santos (wife Denise "Dee"), Gloria Campos (husband Efrain), David Santos (wife Laurie), Beatrice "Bea" Sanchez, Margie Benavides (husband Robert), Robert "Bobby" Santos (Bea Cervantez), Lulu Villarreal (husband Ernest); and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Thursday, Mar. 7, 7 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March. 8, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.
