Andrea (Hernandez) Castillo, age 87, of Hondo passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, in Hondo. Andrea was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Hondo, the daughter of Eduardo and Cipriana (Ruiz) Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ignacio Castillo; and brothers, Guadalupe, Bonefacio, and Margarito Hernandez. She is survived by her son, James H. Castillo and wife Janie of San Antonio; daughter, Melissa A. Puentes and husband Roberto of Hondo; grandchildren, Claudia C. Lopez, Dulce Castillo, Jon-Jaymes Castillo, Nicole Puentes, Felisha Puentes, and Andrea Puentes; great-grandchild, Vianza Lopez; brother, Monico Hernandez and wife Olga of Hondo; sisters, Emelia Nira and husband Alberto of Hondo and Florentina Guedea of San Antonio. Rosary was led by Fannie Ybarra Monday evening and Funeral Mass was Tuesday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Ken Dakin officiated. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. Pallbearers were Mario Garcia, Jeremy Lopez, Jonathan Garcia, Hector Hernandez, Jason Ybarra, Jon-Jaymes Castillo, Armando Nira and Ruben Hernandez.
