Andrew Louis Schneider, age 82, of D'Hanis, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2014. He was born in Castroville, April 7, 1932, the son of Martin Henry and Mary Ann Weiss Schneider. He was a road engineer with the Texas Highway Department for 39 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 54 years, Mamyedel Rieber Schneider; son, Luther Russell "Rusty" Attaway Jr.; grandson, Travis Wayne Attaway; brothers, Marion Schneider and Leon Schneider; and sisters, Amanda Barth and Dorothy Bohl. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Attaway of D'Hanis and Brenda (Carl) Riegel of San Antonio; son, Tom (Dorothy) Attaway of D'Hanis; daughter-in-law, Judy Attaway; sister, Frances Etheridge, and sister-in-law, Myrtle Schneider, both of Castroville; grandchildren, Carl Gene (Kim) Riegel II, Troy (Amy) Riegel, Lance (Anita) Attaway, Jill Attaway (Warren) Beard, and Mardy Attaway; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Nicole (Holt) Storrie, Chelsea Daniele(Justin) Lemons, Carl Gene Riegel III, Chance Riegel, Collin Riegel, Thomas Beard, Brighton Beard, Peyton Beard, Allie Stuman, Kyle Stuman, Landon Attaway, Lawson Attaway and Layton Attaway; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Sunday, Aug. 17, 7 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests memorials may be made to Medina Healthcare Fund or Holy Cross Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
