Angelita Seelig Sanchez, age 93, of Yancey passed away Friday, Mar. 14, 2014. Born in Yancey, April 11, 1920, she was the daughter of Manuel and Margarita (Seelig) Sanchez. Always witty and smiling, she was honest, hardworking and loving. She was a sorter at the pecan factory in Yancey for many years. Angelita loved to dance, to decorate her home for Christmas, and to work in her beautiful rose garden. Angelita was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Tomas Sanchez, Rudolfo Sanchez, Luis Sanchez, Dominga Rodriguez, Delfina Tovar, Theodora Tovar, Maria Sanchez 1 and 2, and Santiaga Sanchez 1 and 2. Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Ontiveros of Yancey; grandson, Jacob Pruneda of Kerrville; and sisters, Ramona Ontiveros and Irene Pruneda, both of Kerrville. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on March 18, 2014, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. at the immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Yancey. With the burial following in the Yancey Cemetery.
