Anita (Maldonado) Martinez, age 76, of Hondo passed away Monday, June 6, 2011. Born Mar. 1, 1935, she was the daughter of Enrique and Victoria (Barrientes) Maldonado. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roman Martinez; brothers, Enrique Jr., Alfredo and Jose Maldonado; and sister, Ofelia M. Reyes. She is survived by her sons, Tony R. Martinez and wife Mary, Robert M. Marrtinez, Johnny Martinez, all of San Antonio, and Danny Martinez of Hondo; daughters, Elsa M. Hernandez of Hondo, Rose Barnes and husband Spencer of Las Vegas NV, Patricia M. Roman of Hondo, Alice Costa and husband Jerry of Irving, Rebecca Martinez of San Antonio, Diane E. Martinez and Debbie A. Martinez, both of Hondo; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, June 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, with Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. Pallbearers were Paul Martinez, Carlos Hernandez, Joey Hernandez, Mike Hernandez, Albert Maldonado Jr., and Zechariah Darter.
