Anna May (Filleman) Reitzer of Hondo passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at the age of 97. She was born May 17, 1911, in El Paso to Leo and Annie (DeGrodt) Filleman. She had been a clerk and manager for the Nester's and Red and White grocery stores in Hondo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Washington Reitzer; and brothers, Arthur J. Filleman and Oscar Harm Filleman. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Ann Pope of Hondo; sons, Thomas Jerome Reitzer of Hondo and Wilbur Ray Reitzer and wife Ann of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Guinn-Horger Chapel with Pastor Stephen Schur officiating. The casket carriers were Michael Hackebeil, Rick Tondre, Steven Mueller, Elliott Hackebeil, Landyn Hackebeil, Nathan Hackebeil. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
