Obituary

Anna Elizabeth Taylor Van De Walle of Hondo, 78, passed away October 9, 2020. Born in Hondo, Texas on January 9, 1942, she was the daughter of Tony Travis Taylor and Lorine Anna Zinsmeyer Taylor.

Anna was raised in Hondo, Texas, graduating from Hondo High School in 1959. Anna had seven children, six boys and one girl, and was a devoted mother and homemaker. When the kids were old enough to fend for themselves, Anna went to work as a dress shop store clerk.

In 1982 she was elected to the office of Medina County Clerk, a position she held for 17 years. She loved life, and particularly enjoyed traveling, dancing, singing, and family games, and spent many hours crocheting and sewing for her family. In 2005, Anna was stricken with a rare blood disorder few survive. In 2015, she suffered a debilitating stroke.  Her face still lit up when she saw an old friend, and she continued to bring happiness to many. The joy of her life was her husband and her family, particularly her grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Tony & Lorine Taylor. Anna will be lovingly remembered by her husban of 60 years, Robert, and her children and their spouses, Brian (Karen), Curt (Kim), Steven (JoAnn), Stacie (Jeff) Carter, Robert Henry, Jr "Beau" (Annessa), Anthony "Tony" (Jill), and Thomas "Tom" (DeLayne). She will never be forgotten by her 16 grandchildren.  Her legacy also includes 3 great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, Bob (Carol) Taylor, Ron (Jimie) Taylor, Nancy (Stan) Scott, & Jayne (Gary "Butch") Scheele.
