Annie (Schmidli) Huesser, age 87, of D'Hanis passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2009. She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Copeland, TX. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Elfrieda "Frieda" Marie (Wernli) Schmidli and Jacob Schmidli; her husband of 68 years, James Day "JD" Huesser; brothers, Louis and Rudy Schmidli; and a sister, Polly Neuman. She is survived by her son, Larry E. Huesser and wife Carolyn of D'Hanis; daughter, Judith Ann Moffett and husband Bill of D'Hanis; four grandchildren, Denny Huesser and wife Kara of Buda, Shanna Moffett Arnett and husband Joseph of D'Hanis, Deena Huesser Wolff and husband Brad of Round Rock, Scott Moffett and wife Krystal of D'Hanis. She was Granny Annie to eight great-grandchildren, Garrett Arnett, Logan Arnett, Hayley Huesser, Brady Wolff, Kenneth Arnett, Hayden Huesser, Reece Wolff and Abby Arnettt. Annie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a member of D'Hanis Extension Education Club, and a 60-year member of the D'Hanis Hermann Sons Lodge. She had worked for many years at Little Muppet Day Care Center and loved children. She especially enjoyed gardening and was always on hand to help out her husband, JD, with the farming and ranch work when needed. Annie was on the first D'Hanis cheerleading squad. Rosary was recited at 9:45 a.m., followed by funeral mass at10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis, with Fr. Wallis J. Stiles officiating. Pallbearers were Denny Huesser, Scott Moffett, Joseph Arnett, Brad Wolff, Ken Nester, Tom Attaway, Justin Henefey and Norman Lutz. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis.
