Anthony Sebastian Giordano Jr., age 45, of San Antonio, formerly of Hondo, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011. Born Nov. 11, 1966, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of Anthony S. Sr. and Dolores M. Giordano. A corrections officer at the TDCJ Dominguez Unit in San Antonio, he had previously worked at the TDCJ Torres Unit in Hondo and the Briscoe Unit in Dilley. Anthony was very outgoing and loved to be around family and friends. He was an avid golfer, a dedicated worker and loved to make everyone laugh. Anthony will be forever loved and missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Maria Hardt and husband Tony; three nephews, Christopher Hassan, Dustin Hassan and D.J. British; and a niece, Chelsea Hardt. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Monday, Dec. 5, 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The Dominguez Unit Color Guard will lead the pallbearers who are friends and co-workers. The family suggests memorials may be made to The American Heart Association.
