Arthur George "Art" Formann, age 83, of Hondo passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012. Born June 2, 1929, in San Antonio, he was the son of George and Anna (Fittka) Formann. He was a retired rancher and banker. Art is preceded in death by his parents; sons, David Michael Formann and Wayne Charles Formann; daughter, Darlene Elaine Formann; and sisters, Jo Ann Smith and Anna Mae Vician. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Lynn Formann of San Antonio; and two grandchildren, Jaden and Nathaniel Formann. Funeral service was at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 12, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hondo, followed by interment at Mission Park South Cemetery, San Antonio. Bearers were Sonny Payne, Col. Ralph Dresser, Rod East, Charlie Roberts, Ronnie Sprenger, and Richard Cullpepper. The family suggests memorials may be made to Operation Smile, 6435 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk VA 23509.
