Audensio M. "Lencho" Garcia of Hondo, 76, joined the caravan of long-haul drivers in the sky on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019.

Born Feb. 12, 1943, in Hondo, he was the son of Santos and Sara Moreno Garcia.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lupe Gonzales and Sara Muñez; brothers, Blacido M. Garcia and Sicilio M. Garcia; stepson, Ernesto Navarro; and granddaughter, Barbara Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Gauna Garcia of Hondo; children, Manuel (Olga) Garcia, James (Anna) Garcia and Mario Garcia, all of San Antonio,Virginia "Ginger" Garcia of Minnesota and Maria Luisa Rico of Florida;  stepchildren, Carlos (Anita) Navarro of Amarillo, Nellie (Ricardo) Benavides of Hondo and Tina (James) Wood of Amarillo; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Blasido Garcia of North Carolina.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday,  Sept. 14, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
