Auldine Wiemers McAnelly of Hondo, 93, passed away April 12, 2021.Born near Hondo May 14, 1927, she married her childhood sweetheart, Charles W. McAnelly in 1947. Auldine and Chuck were born 4 months apart, 3 miles apart, and the families had known each other for generations! They raised their four children in San Antonio and Houston."Our Mom loved sewing clothes for her family, Boy Scouts with her sons, gardening, antiquing and taking pictures of Texas bluebonnets. She and Chuck enjoyed square dancing with their church as well as polka dancing. They were devoted to their Methodist church. After Auldine and Chuck retired, they moved back home to Hondo, TX. Auldine joined the Hondo Art League and became an artist who loved painting scenic landscapes, flowers, and still lifes," her daughter said.Auldine McAnelly is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Blanche Wiemers; her husband, Charles Wayman; her son, Don; her sisters, Lanell Allen and Gene Sosebee; her daughter-in-law, Jo McAnelly; and her son-in-law, Larry Goodman.She is survived by her children, Jack McAnelly (Gail McDonough), Ray McAnelly, and Linda Goodman; grandchildren, Amil McAnelly (Alethea), Amber Jerman (Brian), Aisha Goodman (Corey Cherr), Graham, Eli and Kaija Goodman, and Tyler McAnelly; and great-grandchildren, Penelope, Sebastian, Nalina, Leon, Kyran, and Auden.Auldine will be remembered for her laughter, her devotion to family, and her beautiful paintings.Visitation will be Friday, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel in Hondo.Her funeral will be at the Yancey United Methodist Church, 743 Church St., where she was baptized, married and celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary. Services will be held on Saturday, April 17, at 2:30 p.m., followed by interment at Yancey Cemetery at 3:15 p.m. Face covering and social distancing are requested. Church capacity is limited, cemetery attendance is not.Memorial donations may be made to Hondo Art League, P.O. Box 264, Hondo, TX 78861 or to the Yancey United Methodist Church, P.O.
