Aurora Sendejo Duran of Hondo, 92, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2018. Born in Floresville, Sept. 17, 1926, she was the daughter of Hipolito and Anselma San Miguel Sendejo. A hard-working woman, Aurora worked several years at Medina Community (now Regional) Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Manuel Duran Jr.; sons, Manuel Duran II and Manuel Duran III; and brothers, Victor, Rudy and Fred Sendejo. Survivors include sons, Rudy Duran; daughters, Amparo Garcia, Irene Gil and Elsie Taylor, all of Hondo; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sons- and daughters-in-law, Sandy Duran, Arnulfo Garcia, Victor Gil and Olga Duran; and sisters, Isabel Aguilar of San Antonio and Gertrude Palacios of Hondo. Visitation will be Thursday (today), 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
