Beatrice Rodriguez Gallegos, age 78, of D'Hanis passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015. Born in D'Hanis, Jan. 26, 1937, she was the daughter of Jesus and Rosa Aguinaga Rodriguez. Beatrice, a very special woman of faith, was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was a very committed member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she recited the rosary on a regular basis and was a member of the Guadalupanas and the Spanish choir. She started working for the Country Mart at a very young age and retired from there. There she was able to serve so many of the D'Hanis community. Later in life, she decided to go back to work at the Community Council Center where she was able to help even more people. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David C. Gallegos; son, David Ray Gallegos; brother, Jose M. Rodriguez; and sisters, Paula Chapa and Francisca Rodriguez. Survivors include her grandson, David Ray (Leslie) Gallegos II of Von Ormy; great-grandchildren, Jesse Ray Gallegos of Von Ormy, Sandra Nayeli Gallegos and Alejandro Enrique Gallegos, both of Laredo; niece, Becky (Pat) Morris of D'Hanis; and nephew, Mario Rodriguez of San Antonio. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 28, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will be at San Francisco Cemetery. Pallbearers were Armando Alejandro Jr., Victor Saldana, Julio Gomez, Juan Mares, Ramond Gonzales and J.R. Garcia.
