Beatrice Villa Nira of Hondo, 86, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018. Born in Hondo, March 15, 1932, she was the daughter of Baltazar and Juliana Ledesma Villa. A very caring person, Beatrice had a loving heart. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to sew, cook and bake. She also was very creative and enjoyed making crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernesto Nira; and siblings, Reyes Villa, Pedro Villa, Sebestiana Peña, Eusevia Flores and Ysidra Flores. Survivors include her sons, Arturo Nira and Aurelio Nira, both of Hondo and Arnulfo (Susan) Nira of Knoxville TN; grandchildren, Anthony Nira, Andrew Nira, Samantha Nira, Simona Nira, Melissa Nira and Willie Nira; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Jo Alvarez of California. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
