Benjamin H. Mondragon of Hondo, 59, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Born Jan. 16, 1957, in Mexico, he was the son of Jose and Carmen Hernandez Mondragon. He was a forklift operator in construction. He is preceded in death by his brother, Rogelio Mondragon; brother-in-law, Isidro "Chilo" Lopez; and parents-in-law, Ramon A. and Dolores A. Lopez. He is survived by his wife, Amalia "Molly" Lopez Campos; parents, Jose and Carmen Hernandez Mondragon; stepson, Luis Campos; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Campos; grandchildren, Natasha Campos, Caleb Ramirez and Jacob Marquez; brothers, Blackie, Lupe (Lole), and Fernando; and sisters, Juana, Terri, and Chilo Mondragon. Other family members are his in-laws, Diama Isidro, Dolores Lopez, Josie Premutico, Velinda Perez, Thomas "Tommy" Lopez, Jimmy Lopez and Pete Lopez. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary/Prayer service at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 28, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
