Bernard Allen "Bernie" Bernsen, age 66, of Quihi died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007. He was born Aug. 26, 1941, at Robstown, to Joe Henry & Christine (Hoelscher) Bernsen. He was a Certified Public Accountant in San Antonio; a member of the board of directors of Yancey Water Supply; and a member of the Men's Club and Holy Name Society at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Henry Louis Bernsen. He is survived by his wife, Olivia Ann Bernsen of Quihi; daughter, Christine (Charles) Bloemsma of Austin; sons, Raymond Lloyd Bernsen and John Aaron Bernsen, both of San Antonio, and James Aalan Bernsen of Austin; four grandchildren; and brother, Ralph Joe (Donna) Bernsen of Hondo. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd in San Antonio. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Luke (Loire) Cemetery, 3930 FM 536, off IH 37, in Pleasanton.
