Bernice Frances Lutz Boehle of Hondo, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018. Born in Hondo, Oct. 8, 1936, she was the daughter of Frank Raymond and Emelia Lena Mussman Lutz. Loved by all who knew her, she was a wonderful mom and teacher to her son. She treasured her family and cared deeply about others. She loved her dogs and cattle and was always ready to go see her cows. Dancing was her favorite hobby and she never met a stranger. She would talk to anyone and everyone, anywhere, anytime. She loved to go to Hermann Sons Steak House for cheese pepper steak, but getting her to the table before it got cold was difficult, because she would talk to everyone from the door to the table. For many years Bernice worked at the McDowell Middle School cafeteria as a cook while also managing the cafe at Hondo Livestock Auction. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Merlin Fritz Boehle; and brother, Robert J. "R.J."Lutz. Survivors include her son, Glenn Boehle of Hondo; brothers, Harold (Pam) Lutz of Hondo, David (Beverly) Lutz of D'Hanis, and Sylvan W. (Carolyn) Lutz of Hondo; sister-in-law, Nancy Lutz of Hondo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 9, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Quihi Cemetery.
