Betty Jean Gould Harris, 87, of Yancey passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2024.

She was born March 24, 1937, in San Antonio, the daughter of Earl W. and Bertie Mae Stephens Gould.

Betty lovingly raised 14 children.

For many years, Betty was a tax preparer and also delivered the San Antonio Express News  in Medina County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Lee Harris; children, Connie Corley, Thomas Earl Jacobs III, Betty Lynn Carter, Donna Murphy, J.D. Harris and Linda Skloss; grandson, Thomas Jacobs IV; brothers, Lloyd, Wayne and Albert Gould; and sister, Audrey Tanner.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Harris; children, Larry Miller (Cruz), Richard Harris, Bobby Harris, Chrissy Henderson, Sandy Reyes, Tommy Harris and Jimmy Harris; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 23, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside service will be Saturday, Aug. 24, 11:00 a.m., at Yancey Cemetery.
