Bob Kammer, formerly of Hondo, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, in a Jourdanton hospital, at the age of 83. He was born May 29, 1931, in Mirando City, Texas, to Roy Alphon and Verna Etta Wittenberg Kammer. He served our country in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1953 as an aircraft electrician and later worked in Hondo at Gary Aircraft for many years. On May 29, 1983, he married Freda Brucks and they have lived in Calliham TX since they retired. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian Reinoshek Kammer; and his sister, Bertha Crump. He is survived by his wife, Freda of Calliham; son, Bobby (Annette) Kammer of Hondo; daughters, Patricia Kammer of Liverpool England, Jo Ann (Glenn) Ehlinger of Round Rock, Becky (Michael) Dugi of Selma, Kay (Mike) Gulledge of Mountain Home and Robby (Brett) Beard of Hondo; stepsons, Garland Nietenhoefer of Lowell, Mass., Randal Nietenhoefer of Calliham and Roger Nietenhoefer of Pleasanton; brother, Bill (Barbara) Kammer of San Antonio; sister, Betty DuBose of College Station; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at the Calliham Community Church in Calliham. Burial will follow at the Calliham Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nathan Ehlinger, Noah Hermes, Eron Kammer, Andrew Kammer, Ethan Kammer and Gary Chapman. Honorary bearers are Joshua Schueling and Stephen Smallwood.
