Bobby Ray Poole, age 79, of Hondo passed away Saturday, March 29, 2010. Born Aug. 6, 1930, in Asheboro, NC, he was the son of Guy and Maggie (Rogers) Poole. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. After moving to Hondo, he worked for Medina Electric Co-op. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Max Poole. He is survived by his wife, Carole Kennette (Redding) Poole; daughter, Jacqueline Heiligman of Yancey, her husband Ronnie, their daughters, Bonnie Cerny, husband Cody and son Case, and Katelin Heiligman; daughter, Dr. Janice Poole of Austin, her daughter, Jordan Allen, husband Troy and son Jackson, her sons, William Roberts and wife Jessica Dearinger and their son Riley, and John Baker; and son, Douglas Poole of Asheboro, NC, and his children, Garrett and wife Allison, Bobby, Kayla, Kelley and Ashely Poole. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.
