Bonnie Louise Koch Kunz, age 71, of Hondo went to meet her Lord and Savior and sing in His heavenly choir on Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2015. Born in New Braunfels, Feb. 1, 1944, she was the daughter of Lawrence W. and Mildred Lee Peters Koch. She was a homemaker, but also served for some 15 years as an EMT with Community EMS and was secretary for Kunz Plumbing. She loved to sing, often participating in area events, and was a dedicated member of the church choir. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Margie Ann Waldrip. Survivors include her husband, Leroy E. Kunz; her mother, Mildred Lee Koch of New Braunfels; son, Kenneth W. "Kenny" Kunz of Hondo; daughter, Donna M. (Scott) Squires of Stephenville; grandchildren, Jerry Rex House II of Colorado Springs CO, Matthew C. Squires, Michael R. Squires and Brittany N. Squires, all of Stephenville; and sister, Sherry Lee Brandt of Seguin. Visitation will be Monday, Mar. 30, from 12 to 1 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis, followed by the Rosary at 1 p.m. and Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scott Squires, Brent Free, Bobby Self, Rodney Schlather, William "Gizmo" Freeman and Bobby Zuberbueler. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
