Brian Charles Batteau, age 41, of Arlington passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014. He was born July 14, 1972, in Hondo. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in San Antonio in 1990. He also attended Texas State University in San Marcos and Texas Southern University in Houston. Brian worked at Bank of America in Fort Worth. Brian received the President's Volunteer Service Award in 2005 for mentoring at-risk teenagers. He also received Customer Service and Solutions Top Sales Associate in 2009. Brian never met a stranger and was always willing to help someone. He was devoted to his family and friends. He loved basketball and his Dallas Cowboys. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul Ligon and Jesse and Judy Batteau, and his aunt, Anita Ligon Black. He is survived by his mother, Paula Batteau of Cypress; father, Charles Batteau of Clute; daughter, Keyana Pratt of Tomball; sister, Tanisha Ligon-Peterson of Huntsville AL; uncles, Keith "Kebo" (Karen) Ligon of San Angelo, Darren (Terry) Ligon of El Paso, Elton Batteau, James Batteau, Leslie "Pouchie" Batteau, Joseph Batteau and Stephen Batteau; aunt, Anita Cotton; grandmother, Joyce Ligon of Hondo; one niece, two nephews, great-aunts and -uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be Friday, Mar. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel.Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 15, at West End Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery.
