Carol Dee Parsons Lindsay of Hondo, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 17, 2022.

Born in Hondo, Texas, on September 16, 1939, she was 83 years old. Carol was the daughter of Samuel Harris Parsons and Ginella Lucille Smith Parsons. She attended Hondo ISD, where she graduated in 1958. In 1978 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Carol began her teaching career in Hondo and taught 2 ^nd , 3 ^rd and 5 ^th grades from 1979 until her retirement in 2003. Carol was a dedicated Hondo ISD teacher who was admired by her students as well as her many colleagues.

Carol also served from 2003 to 2010 as a member of the Board of Directors for the Education Service Center, Region 20.

Because of her excellent organizational skills as a teacher, Carol was often in demand as the family "wedding coordinator," at many of her nieces' and nephews' weddings. "Aunt Dee Dee" ran each ceremony punctually, smoothly, and calmly. Each of them was grateful for her continuous sweet spirit and never-ending commitment to them. They loved her deeply.

Carol was a loving mother to her two sons, Christopher Lindsay of Pickens, South Carolina, and Benjamin Lindsay of Hondo, Texas.

She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and the beautiful sights and sounds of nature.

Carol had a servant's heart, and gave her time to volunteering at First Baptist Church in Hondo. There she served as Sunday School Director for many years. One of her joys was her volunteer work with the Manna Pantry ministry at First Baptist where she provided spiritual counseling and helped coordinate the distribution of food, clothing and other items to families in need.

Carol is preceded in death by her loving parents, Samuel and Ginella Parsons; brother-in-law, Scruggs Love; and niece, Jennifer Parsons LaPorte.

Carol is survived by her siblings, Betty Parsons Love, Clyde Parsons (Denise), Janet Parsons Rothe (Charles), and Jeffery Parsons. She is also survived by her sons, Christopher Lindsay (Claudine) and Benjamin Lindsay, as well as her grandson, Brayden Lindsay (Leeka). She has numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 2, at 11am, First Baptist Church, 2400 Avenue P, in Hondo.
