Carolyn Eve Green Heyen of Hondo, 77, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2026.

Born April 22, 1948, in Jacksonville TX, she was the daughter of Sgt. Wm. Horace "Bill" Green and Eva Pearl Goodrich Green.

A graduate of Hondo High School Class of 1966, Carolyn was a wonderful cook and owned a restaurant for a time. Her cooking skills were much appreciated at family gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but she also enjoyed going out to eat with family. She trusted in God, loved animals, and treasured her family—especially her son whom she loved dearly—and always went out of her way to give special gifts.

Mysteries intrigued her and she delighted in watching shows like Sherlock Holmes and Hudson's Rex.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marilyn Haas; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Green.

Carolyn will be dearly missed by her son, Michael Heyen and his wife, Marissa; grandchildren, Michael S. Heyen III, Isaiah C. Heyen, and Mariah E. Heyen; great-grandson, Logan M. Chaney; brothers, Robin Lee Green and William Green and his wife Lorraine; brother-in-law, Sonny Haas; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be at a later date.
