Cecilia Vera Hernandez of Hondo, 76, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017. Born near Devine on Nov. 22, 1940, she was a daughter of Domingo M. and Maria Hernandez Vera. Cecilia was a patient and loving wife, sister and aunt. She was a good cook and a didn't mind hard work. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Vicente Vera, Domingo Vera Jr. and Joe Vera; and sister-in-law, Lydia Vera. Survivors include her husband, Inez Hernandez; sisters, Josie (Francisco) Salinas, Lorenza (Tony) Martinez, Kelly (Tony) Castillo, Romalda Vera, Estefana Vera, Marcelina (Hugh) Jay and Lupe (Larry) Moore; brothers, Tim Vera, Sam (Diana) Vera, Albino Vera and Jesus Vera; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
