Cecilia Katie Johnson, age 82, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. Born June 15, 1930, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Otto Robert and Katie (Mussman) Burrell. Cecelia was the dietician at what is now Medina Regional Hospital for more than 24 years. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the ladies quilting group, TOPS, AARP, and Relay for Life. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Travis Earl Johnson; son, Michael Burl Johnson; brothers, Fritz, Edgar, Chester C., Elmer C., Walter J., and Otis H. Burrell; and sister Lorine Leinweber. She is survived by her son, Thomas D. Johnson and wife Geneva of Bryan; granddaughters, Heather Johnson of Bryan and Lindsey Brack and husband Andre of Montgomery; and great-grandson, Trey Brack of Montgomery. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 20, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Casket bearers were Bobby, Charles, Dan, Kenneth and Spencer Burrell, Joel Curtis, Robert Leinweber, and Jesse Lindsey. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Quilting Group.
