Cecilia Tovar Valdez, age 71, of San Antonio passed away Monday, Apr. 4, 2016. Born in Hondo, Nov. 19, 1944, she was the daughter of Secundino and Josefa Aguirre Tovar, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church in San Antonio. Survivors include her husband, Ambrosio Valdez; daughters, Esmeralda (Jose) Rodriguez and Veronica (David) Sauceda, all of San Antonio; two grandchildren, Teresa Cecilia and Joe Anthony; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Tommy (Leticia) Tobar of Uvalde. Visitation will be Tuesday, Apr. 5, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Apr. 6, 2:00 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
