Celso R. Gonzales of Hondo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at the age of 90. He was born in Utopia, Texas, August 22, 1916, the son of Atilano Gonzales & Refugia (Rodriguez) Gonzales. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Lucy (Barrientes) Gonzales; son Celso Gonzales, Jr.; daughter Olga Rodriguez; sisters Josefa Alvarado, Uriegas, Juanita Tovar, Eulalia Gonzales, Maria Banga, Antonia Rodriguez; brothers Pablo Gonzales, Lazaro Gonzales, Atilano Gonzales; grandsons Michael Rodriguez, Ricardo Guedea. Celso is survived by his sons Rene Gilberto Gonzales of San Antonio, Rodolfo Gonzales of Hondo; daughter Carmen Arausa and husband Martin of Hondo. The Rosary was held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday November 10 at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m on Saturday November 11 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Jason Gonzales, Rene G. Gonzales, Jr., Daniel Guedea, Byron X. Guedea, Xavier G. Guedea, Rogelio G. Guedea. Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
