Charles Ney, age 81, of San Antonio passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015. Born May 12, 1933, in Hondo, he was the son of Edmund Henry and Dora Adella Filleman Ney. Charles served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1962, and afterwards taught English abroad, chiefly in Turkey. He travelled extensively in the Middle East and northern Africa. After returning to Texas, he was an antiques dealer until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edmund F. Ney and Thomas J. Ney; and sisters, Patricia Ney Begeman and Dorothy Ney Pichel. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Mary Pat (Michael) Bolner and Lisa (Kenneth) Theriot of San Antonio, Michael (Pamela) Begeman, Nancy McIntire (Andrew) Nietupski of Austin, Mary McIntire, Tom McIntire and Mark (Susan Berryman) Ney of Georgetown, Kathy Ferguson of Temecula, California, and George Pichel of New Mexico. A service will be planned at a later date.
