Christopher Lee "Chato" Medina of Hondo/Dunlay passed away suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023.  He was 44.

Born Oct. 15, 1979, in San Antonio, he was the son of Frank G. and Gay Lynn Brucks Medina. His mother preceded him in death.

Known as Chato by family and friends since he was an infant, Christopher  was fiercely loyal and would do anything to protect his loved ones. He was baptized at University Baptist Church and his family said,  "we know he is in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."

He loved music, was quite charming, and was truly talented at his profession. He enjoyed fishing and the Texas coast. Memories he recalled most often were made when he was with friends and family at the beach or lake or river.

He loved to cook for his family, especially his favorites: Sopa Con Wienies, Cherry Dump Cake and Crispy Dogs. If you know, you know.

He is survived by his father; his son, Isaiah Christian Medina; daughter, Hannah Jo Medina; brothers, Frank Cody Medina (Stacey) and Andrew Nicholas Medina (Janie); sister, Amanda Lynn Medina (Sean); and the mother of his children, Amy Hecker.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 11:00 a.m., at Pipe Creek Cemetery, 1134 FM 1283, Pipe Creek TX 78063, followed by a time of fellowship and celebrating his life at Pipe Creek Community Center, 163 FM 1283.
