Clara Nell (Bright) Richter, age 83, of Hondo, passed away Friday, Apr. 19, 2013. Born Sept. 13, 1929, in Justiceberg, Texas, she was the daughter of Jim and Jessie Serena (Pettigrew) Bright. Raised in Carrizo Springs, Clara met and married James Joesph Richter in 1947. Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her to family, while also working for the HISD as a diligent and trusted employee for 35 years or more. She was also actively involved in St. John's Catholic Church and the Hondo Public Library. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings, Chester, Gordan, Cleo and Claudine Bright; and her beloved husband of 62 years, James Joseph Richter. Clara is survived by her son, Jimmy Joe Richter and wife Susan of Red Rock; three grandchildren, Serena Richter Fuegeron and husband Blake of Leander, Samantha Richter Gonzalez and husband Bino Z of Austin, and Sara Richter Gearman and husband Alex of Austin; three great-grandchildren, Riley Paige Stuart of Cedar Creek and Bino and Zino Gonzalez of Austin; nephew, Grant King Bright and wife Mona of New Mexico; nieces, Joalice Bright of New Mexico and Rebecca Bright Matthews and husband, Jim, of San Antonio. Memorial funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The family suggests memorials may be made to St John's Building Fund or the Hondo Public Library.
