Colby Adam Jonas, 24, of San Marcos, formerly of Castroville, TX, passed away March 14, 2007 in Austin, TX. Colby was born December 13, 1982 in San Antonio, to Earl Jr. and Nancy Steubing Jonas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, O.J. and Margie Steubing. Survivors include his parents, Earl Jr. and Nancy Jonas of Castroville; sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Chris Thompson, M.D. of Temple; expecting a nephew, Holden Thompson, in March; paternal grandparents, Juanita and Earl A. Jonas Sr. of Boerne; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Steubing of Hondo; aunts Peggy Jimenez and husband Michael of Medina Lake and Jeanie Mayfield and husband Wade of Hondo; uncle Charles Steubing and wife Marsy of Wichita, KS; and numerous cousins. Colby was a 2001 graduate of Medina Valley High School and a 2005 graduate of Texas State University with a BS in Criminal Justice. At the time of his death, he was working at the San Marcos Treatment Center and had also worked several years in San Marcos for The Tavern. Visitation will be Sunday, March 18, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville.
