Connie Harris Corley, age 61, of Yancey lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Born Jan. 22, 1954, she was the daughter of Estal Parker and Betty Jean Gould Parker. She was a long-time newspaper carrier in the Hondo area. She is preceded in death by her father; stepfather, Gerald Harris; husband, Steve Corley; brothers, Thomas Jacobs III and Jerry Harris; and sisters, Linda Skloss and Donna Murphy. Connie is survived by her son, Bobby Dwayne Harris; mother, Betty Harris; and sister, Lynn Carter, all of Yancey; brother, Larry (Cruz) Miller of Hondo; stepbrothers, Larry Harris and Richard Harris, both of Yancey; sisters, Sandra (Julian) Reyes of Yancey and Chrissy Green of Pearsall; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, May 10, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Yancey Cemetery.
