Consuelo Esquivel "Chelo" Delgado of Hondo, 79, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018. Born in Hondo, Feb. 26, 1939, she was the daughter of Francisco and Maria Guajardo Esquivel. Consuelo was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved to cook, host parties for family members, have music playing, and always enjoyed Bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Rita Corona, Clarita "Clara" Carrasco, Jesus "Chuy" Esquivel, Cruz Esquivel, Juan Esquivel and Eulalio "Chicho" Camacho; and in-laws, Domingo Corona, Ramon Carrasco, Adolpho Botello, Consuelo Esquivel and Domingo Sanchez. Survivors include her son, Thomas (Dori) Delgado; stepson, Johnny Delgado; grandsons, Thomas Jr. and Jeremy Thomas; brother, Edward "Lalo" Esquivel; and sisters, Guadalupe "Lupe" Sanchez and Oralia Botello, all of Hondo. Visitation at Guinn-Horger Chapel will be Monday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
