Consuelo Valles Esquivel of Hondo, age 75, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Born in Hondo, March 30, 1940, she was the daughter of Perfecto and Tomasa Constante Valles. She was a cook for many years, in the school system and local restaurants. Consuelo was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Perfecto Jr., Elijio, Emilio, Edwardo, Jesus, Andres; and sisters: Guadalupe Balzen, Sofia Ulery, Felicitia Barron, Paubla Hernandez, Herminia Valles, and infant Marcella Valles. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Edward G. Esquivel; children, Jesse Esquivel, Blanca (Ruben) Sanchez, Rosemary (Gabriel) Benitez, Jessica Avila and Thomas (Dorelia) Delgado; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Marcela Valles, all of Hondo. Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, July 11, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. Pallbearers are Rafael Carrasco, Roberto Carrasco, Jeffrey Sanchez, Gabriel Sanchez, Michael Palomo and Jeremy Delgado.
