Consuelo Santos Gonzales of McKinney, formerly of Hondo, 93, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. Born in Hondo, Mar. 14, 1923, she was the youngest daughter of Jose Leon and Adela Chavana Santos. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Domingo G. Gonzales; son, Ricardo Gonzales; brothers, Alfredo, Jose, Jesus M., Amador and Henry Santos; and sisters, Juana Santos, Maria de la Luz Santos, Amalia Santos and Leonor Sandoval. Survivors include her sons, Domingo S. (Odelia) Gonzales Jr. of Devine, Oscar (Nelda) Gonzales of Hondo; daughter, Elsie G. (Will) Turner of McKinney; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A private graveside service was held Thursday, Jan. 26, at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.
